Phil Shaffer is a managing director of Morgan Stanley and institutional consulting director of Graystone Consulting. Phil leads the Columbus, Ohio office of Graystone Consulting where he plays an integral role in strategic portfolio construction, asset allocation research, and investment manager due diligence. Phil has consistently been recognized as one of the most highly-qualified investment consultants in the industry and was named one of “Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors in America” in 2011 and 2012. Phil was an inaugural member of “Who’s Who of Investment Management Consulting.” Phil is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association SM and the Association of Professional Investment Consultants. He has received numerous industry awards in his career. Phil is an honors graduate of The College of Wooster and holds the designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst SM through the Investment Management Consultants Association SM curriculum at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Phil and his wife Melissa are active members of the philanthropic community and donate significant time and energy to numerous non-profit organizations. They have three sons and two daughters-in-law. Phil and Melissa live in Granville, Ohio.
